San Juan Worm Alternative

Written by YellowStoneFly of the Idaho Fly Fishers Blog and tied by the same. Big fly, heavy and very effective. Works great on the Big Horn, particularly in red. These are tied on a long-shank 1-0 hook. Sorry, photos bad. Color is light, lime green.

Tie in thread color of choice @ bend.

Slip down to within 1/4" of barb.

Wrap back to within 1/4" of eye
using abutting wraps.

Tie off and coat length with superglue.
