Skwala Stonefly Adult

#1-Stack thread at bend.
#2-Tie in 2 brown grouse biots.
#3-Tie in brown hackle
Here you go. A really great springtime western fly. This fly is absolutely prolific in certain rivers and streams. I wouldn't use one too large though. Generally an 8-12 will work and occasionally one will see 14-16. This fly I time like a stimulator only with a light green foam body and black thread. Sometime at the end, I like to flatten the underside with scissors. This tends to allow the fly to float better. CLICK ON PHOTOS TO SEE LARGER.

#4-Attach green foam (superglue)
#5-Wrap thread forward evenly.

#6-Tie in grouse biots at eye.

#7-Wrap hackle in thread lines, secure.

#8-Tie in (I like elk), whip finish head.
Now clip underside hackle for float as mentioned above if desires. This is a great Idaho Fly Fishing spring stonefly. Try it out. It is almost time to wet your hooks again. Winter is finally waning.
