Idaho Fly Fishers Association Annual Meeting - 2015

Again many of our Idaho fly fishing lovers met for our annual meeting at the Big Horn River, MT.

KY with a nice Horn Brown
Again we had a great time and caught trout. Paul was our savior with his culinary skills and we all had way too much to eat and drink. Poker games are beginning to now end before midnight, but of course we are all somewhat more mature than we used to be.

Want to know why the fish don't bite?

Being honest, the fishing is NOT what it used to be. Heavier flows, warmer water and large amounts of grass, which we have had for the last 2 years, are having an effect on this fishery. Fishing the morning Tricos hatch was great on top, but drop below the surface for the larger fish and you have had it. I do hope the locals figure out the problem or I fear this once great fishery is on its way out.

New member LG (OK) having a GREAT time!
Needless to say though, the group will survive and next year promises another great outing. We just don't know exactly where might meet to fish and socialize.

For more information and for complaints about my being lazy and not doing a single post in September go to:

Hard takes, tight lines, screaming reels and sore arms forever.
