This short book also has launch points, camping areas, hatch charts, easy to follow driving instructions and some wonderful photos. New in this book are trout fishing schedules--in other words the best time to catch fish. There are several short paragraphs about area establishments and attractions in each section, with Montana fly fishing hints and comments as well.
IDFFA (the Idaho Fly Fishers Association) actually has a group trip planned to Craig, MT and the Missouri this next September. Thus my motivation for this purchase. It cost, by the way, $24.95 at my local farm, home and sporting goods store. I have also seen this on Amazon, since my purchase, for around $20 including shipping.

By the way, if you need flies to take with you to the Missouri or any other Montana trout river, look at the hatch charts in the book, then go to Big Y Flies. Their flies are quite durable and inexpensive. And for the perfect Missouri River rod, try out their 9 foot Nano. I have one and I must say, it is one of my favorites and perfect for the St. Joe. Big Y also has frequent sales. Get on their mailing list. It is definitely worth it.
Hard takes, tight lines, come and join us on MO if you can. Don't forget Idaho fly fishing as well.
PS - We have an awesome IDFFA trip planned to the Missouri in September. This short resource is the perfect resource for Montana rivers and streams. Frank Amato also has reference sources for Washington state, Oregon, Northern California and Alaska. See Amazon for this publication as well. It will also cost around $20 including shipping.
