|Example Wading Staff|
Such a simple design, one wonders why they didn't design one and make some money. Well we didn't, but at least we can write about them in a free blog post.
If you are physically handicapped in any way, say fake knees or hips, these really make your Idaho fly fishing life so much easier and safer. And even if you do not have a handicap, wading staffs are great and a must when fishing any flowing water containing rocks. So that means any water.
There are many manufacturers and they range in price from at least $24.95 to $149.95. One of the nice things is they last forever. The one I personally use, I have had for many years. The material is some kind of light weight metal. It still functions perfectly, but I would recommend some lithium grease on each joint, if you have a "folding" staff, to keep joints from sticking and for ease in "folding".
Here are some staffs which you'll find quickly online by simply typing in "wading staff":
Cabelas 54" Staff - $49.99
Colorado Angler Staff - $33.99
Simms 52"-56" Staff - $24.95
Simms Pro 52"-56" Staff - $149.95
TFO 54" Staff - $64.95
Walmart 54" Staff - $39.99
Hard takes, tight lines, screaming reels and don't fall.
